It’s not too late to book your 2024 cruise. NCL has tempting last-minute options
Norwegian Cruise Line sails across Europe and there are some fantastic deals up for grabs if you’re looking for a last-minute cruise to Europe this summer
Norwegian Cruise Line’s (NCL®) port-rich itineraries are the ideal way to explore Europe in 2024, with more time in port than most of the other lines sailing in Europe.
Many of NCL’s top itineraries don’t even have sea days – that’s how much time you’ll have to be out exploring each destination. Every day of your cruise.
And if you’re worried that you’ve left it too late to book a great cruise for this summer, think again. There are some impressive last-minute deals to be had onboard NCL’s award-winning fleet of ships.
With over 150 ports of call across the continent – including the Baltic, Mediterranean, and Greek Isles – you’re sure to see some true gems this summer with NCL. It’s no surprise that they’ve been named Europe’s Leading Cruise Line for 17 years on the trot at the World Travel Awards.
Last-minute bookings can still take advantage of Free at Sea
Free at Sea is NCL’s upgrade package – add it on to your booking from £199 per person on a 6-8 day cruise and you’ll be treating yourself to all-inclusive premium drinks, meals in the ship’s speciality restaurants (which usually you’d have to pay extra onboard for), complimentary wi-fi minutes, discounts on excursions, and, if you’re travelling with more than two people in the cabin, then the third and fourth guests only need to pay the relevant taxes on select sailings.
It’s a fantastic deal, and even better to know that you can still load this up on top of any last-minute offer for this summer.
Ready to set sail – our pick of the options
We love a one-week cruise around the Greek Isles. The water is a special hue of turquoise, and even the food is seemingly more vibrant when served on the veranda of a white-walled, blue-roofed clifftop restaurant. Norwegian Getaway’s weeklong cruise in the Greek Isles
sounds like just the ticket, with port calls in Santorini, Rhodes, and Mykonos.
If one week isn’t enough (we totally understand), then Norwegian Epic has the answer for you, with her 10-day Greek Isles and Italy sailing, which departs from Rome (Civitavecchia) and adds three Italian ports to your week island-hopping in Greece.
Iceland and Greenland are famed for the Northern Lights in winter, and in summer they’re the place to go for fresh air and breath-taking landscapes. The hiking is out of this world in the northern reaches of the Atlantic – and arriving by ship is absolutely the best way to visit, thanks to the astonishingly beautiful fjords you’ll sail through. Set sail onboard Norwegian Star on September 1, 2024, and make your dream of visiting Greenland a reality.
Cruises that start in one port and end in another give you an opportunity to see even more places during your cruise. That’s why we love Norwegian Viva’s 11-day Mediterranean voyage from Rome (Civitavecchia) to Lisbon. Sailing between these two fabulous European capitals, this cruise visits 12 ports, including Naples, Barcelona, Ibiza, and Gibraltar.
If Northern Europe is your favourite region, with its characteristic blend of architecture, food and cultures, then Norwegian Dawn has a dream itinerary for you, sailing from Stockholm to Le Havre, incorporating days in various French, German and English ports.
It’s always fun when a cruise includes ports in the UK, for the chance to experience the enchanting side of our home isles as a tourist… That said, the old towns of Stockholm and Tallinn are probably the highlights for us on this one.
But for a classic Mediterranean cruise – the ultimate summer holiday – Norwegian Escape is our choice. Sailing roundtrip from Barcelona, you’ll enjoy 10 idyllic days in the warm waters of Italy, France and Spain. It’s the overnight stay in Livorno that makes this itinerary truly pop, giving you plenty of time to truly immerse yourself in the gorgeous cities of Florence and Pisa. This favourite itinerary has multiple date options, throughout July, September and October.
