Viking Ra

The trip was organised through Broadway Travel and their local Egyptian agent Meeting Point. I was originally booked onto MS Emilio but was transferred to Royal Viking because I was the only English-speaker going onto Emilio.
The trip was very cheap and perhaps I should have known better but it certainly was not 5-star. Although the staff and ship were OK, the food was poor and the trip was also spoilt by a member of the Meeting Point party was was loud and obnoxious.
The trip was interesting and very tiring (I am 74) with Karnak and the Valley of the Kings too much on one day. Of the week on board, less than half was sailing, the rest moored.
At least I got to see the Nile and its sites but it was a shame it was not a better experience. Now off the bucket list but would only go again if I was offered a top-class trip from a top operator for free! (kindly note that the ship was not operated by Viking River Cruises.)
